Collector envy
Collectors have got to be the most fabulous eccentric people of all time. Here's Chicago's famous collector, the late Muriel Newman. Timeless, extravagant and wonderful. <3

It was such a pleasure to stop in and visit Kayli at Greenville South Carolina's Gallery Seventeen.

I'm looking forward to working on a new large scale piece for the gallery, but I still want to find an art supply store that carries large stretchers here! Heavy duty 8 foot-ish? anyone? I'm not a big fan of ordering online and getting stuck with damaged or inferior products... I may just have to make a trip to Atlanta!
I'm all stocked up on paint, and hoping to participate in next Thursday's "Rock out Hunger" as a demonstrating artist...

What a great feeling to have another corporate scale painting placed in a collection.
This painting, "Another Sky" was sold to Tucker Ellis law firm in Cleveland through the Bonfoey gallery.
An Emily Dickenson poem is embedded in the texture, and reads like this:
"There is another sky,...
Ever serene and fair,
And there is another sunshine,
Though it be darkness there;
Never mind faded forests, Austin,
Never mind silent fields—
Here is a little forest,
Whose leaf is ever green;
Here is a brighter garden,
Where not a frost has been;
In its unfading flowers
I hear the bright bee hum:
Prithee, my brother,
Into my garden come!"
And with gratitude, I have been paid just in time to send my son off to another year at SCAD. (Savannah College of Art and Design) Paying it forward!

Dock of the Bay
60" x 60"
This painting is the first piece completed in my West New York studio. It's a fairly large piece and I worked steadily on it while watching a Mad Men marathon on Netflix. It was a really hot week, and I blasted the fan and drank tons of water. I haven't seen the painting in over a month, and I'm looking forward to getting back and showing it at the Southampton Festival of the Arts on labor day weekend!
